How are we all doing this week and what have you achieved? The weather in Melbourne have been staying great so far, so plenty of long walks for me. The other day we went on a trial around Princess Park in Carlton, Melbourne zoo and finished back to Sydney Rd, which took just over an hour and a half and yes my tan has gone even more browner! I think by the time summer is over, to see me in the dark I’d have to keep smiling

Speaking of tans, last weekend walking along Williamstown pier, we stumbled across $5 boat cruises!! Turned to my friends and said ”My shout girls!” like the high roller that I am haha.. I was very excited, the boat took us around the bay, the sun was shining, I’m waving at other random boats, people fishing, pretending to be Rose from Titanic and yelling out “Hold me Jack!” Was a laugh I must say.

This weekend the Spanish Fest is being held at Johnston St, Fitzroy, it should be quite fun but I’ve always considered it more as a food fest, which is fine by me. I’m anticipating fresh paella, hot churros with caramel fillings, between some serious dancing. Food.. mmmm which reminds me we had some very yummy Arab sweets during the week..

I was having a discussion the other night, ‘What do you prefer – Training during colder or warmer climate?” I personally prefer winter training because you get all warmed up in gym and know you’re working up a sweat, and then you have summer time for fun times. A few other answers I got was summer training is better because afterwards the weather is still nice outside to enjoy or winter training is unmotivational. What is your opinion people?? Or does it not affect you? Hit me up with your answers, I’m curious.

Last Friday started off riding with a friend because I wanted to practice on my turns, so he took me up to the Yarra Boulevard which has heaps of curves. Awesome instructor that he is, by end of our laps, I had more confidence, control and leaning more on my turns yay!! Next goal, monos hah!!

Saturday night was the Latin Fiesta I was so excited about, but upon arrival I had a sinking feeling, so we popped our heads in to check it out before commiting… ok few words just to give you an idea: grandma social club….*groan* Abit of a let down but never mind, off to a well known club on Toorak Rd because they usually have the Brazilian dancers performing. Turned out to be a great night, it helps when we randomly got full access of the whole venue and met the Potbelleez backstage.

Monday night, second attempt to some latin dancing was another fail. We left it too late, line wasn’t moving and euro crowd was trashy, so a late night feast on Lygon St to cheer us up :) Third attempt on Thursday night was better, beautiful venue and dancers but honestly at that stage I was over going out!

The weather this whole week has been delightful, the sun was smiling down on Melbourne. After having a mini break, it was great for my clients to smash it out, heaps of outdoor and soccer inspired training, focusing on agility and speed foot work. 

And what better way to keep cool but by whipping up some healthy smoothies? Mixed berries, chocolate protein, soy milk, LSA (linseed/sunflower/almond), ice and blended.

Just had a light dinner and the weather is still fine, so I  might go for a quick stroll in the neighbourhood. Have a nice Sunday night, ciao ciao!

Start of the week, a client of mine took me along to a crossfit class and we had to do a challenge of 300 skips, 75 kettlebell squats, 75 chinups and 1km run between two. The class was a mixed range of levels of fitness and to be fair they paired us evenly. So my partner was a 50+ elderly grandma, and she says to me “I’ll do what I can” and I replied ” No worries, just do your best!” but mentally to myself “MUST WIN” I am quite the competitve one. I’m always setting mini (pointless) challenges to myself, for example when I’m riding my motorbike and upon reaching a stop light, I’ll weave through the line cars to get to the front or when I play on the nintendo wii I get very worked up playing tennis and I HAVE to win even though I’m playing against my 5 year old nephew…muahaha

ANYWAYS, back to my story telling, I took it upon myself to do majority of the work load but I must say my partner did very well in skipping without tripping once like some (myself) When I won the challenge, the instructor and whole class congratulated me, on the outside I was very calm and humble about it but on the inside it was a different story, I was running around doing my victory laps and dance in my head!! WooOooo yeahhh booiiiii lol. Also one of the exercises we had to do at the start of the class was rope climbing and I did it quite easily (suprisingly) it was an accomplishment for me yay Big shout out to my client who came less then a minute after myself, which was a relief knowing I must have been doing something right to her with our previous training sessions!

So the other week I bought myself some rice wraps and made some grilled chicken rice wraps with baby spinach, grilled mushrooms, special home made greek olives, light greek yoghurt and my favourite ingredient, chilli to finish it off. 

The reason I didn’t include a picture of a folded version was because I overdid it with the filling and it was verrry messy..well there goes my kebab maker career!

Today Melbourne is sunny, I’ve already went for my long walk outside in the morning, took my bike out for a cruise to the gym and now off to roller blade at the beach! Trying to enjoy the sun while it last.

Just a quick entry today, I’m running around like crazy trying to get ready because I will be working at the MotoGP this weekend at Phillip Island, ooooot oooot!! Bike heaven for me, my mission is to try to take as many photos of me on as many bikes I can get hold of, haha!

Last weekend was so busy busy, Sat 8th was IFBB, Sun 9th was INBA and NABBA which I could only attend at INBA that day. It was a great weekend, one huge social gathering for me because you see so many familiar, friendly faces Met professional body builder Kai Greene, massive dude!

Ok so I’ve packed away snacks such as protein bars, baby food, fruit and nuts, low calorie jelly etc because I have no idea how the next few days schedule is going to be like, at least I’ll have things in my pocket to munch on. Free travel, accomodation and food, loving it! (especially the free food bit) So to all you riders who will be at the GP, if you see me running amuck, make sure to say Hiii alright? This is my attempt of joining the world of blogging, so please do forgive me if I’m all over the place!

Last week's first blog entry, getting dragged straight after training by my girl friend to keep her company at her uni library

I think giving you a quick run down on how I came along into fitness and this lifestyle will help you understand the reason behind everything..so let’s begin:

I’ve always loved being creative since I was young, was previously an art student and was a graphic designer for 2 years before I got sick of being in the office, day in day out, in front of a computer, same same routine, so I thought to myself “Can you picture the spending the rest of your life like this?” Easy answer, HELL NO! So after many discussions with friends and family on what I should do because changing career and steady income is a scary thing but i figured happiness over money definitely, one conversation in particular with my sis went along like this: “Why don’t you look into the fitness industry? You’re always up at the gym and been an active person your whole life!” Hmmmmmmmmm good answer sis, I do love it all with health and fitness! Been playing various sports when I was younger like basketball, hockey, soccer, (always been goalie for some reason, either quick reaction or I don’t mind getting hit lol) boxing for a while, progressed to kick boxing and mma, loved learning the technical side of things, all on top of learning weight training as well.

Fast forward…did my certs in health & fitness, got a job at a gym, started building my client base, got another job at a sport supplement shop, loved learning more and more about sports nutrition, diets etc, began doing sports supps promos and just loving life! It helps when you enjoy doing your job. I’ve always loved interacting with people and to be able to help someone achieve their fitness goals, gives me enormous satisfaction.

What I want to bring to this blog, is to show that you can have a good balance of health and fitness but still enjoy the finer things in life like bike riding (I have a baby honda cbr rr 250 – i will upgrade one day..but i have been saying that for 3 years now haha), dining out or out latin dancing etc etc.. I want to keep it real ya heard??

My style of training is weight training and own body weight circuit training. I love playing with kettlebells, agility ladders, suspension ropes, steps, pad work just to name a few, which I like to torture my clients with..they don’t call my their personal torturer for nothing!

So windy, the fake grass got messed up! Don't worry, the next day I saw it was still the same so I fixed it!
